‘Sruth’

Hebridean weather can be wild and after a heavy downpour the burns on the island begin to rage. It’s not just the increased volume and flow (‘Sruth’ in Scottish Gaelic) of the burns that I find mesmerising, it’s the the audible roar that accompanies them that calls to me and excites me. The colours and energy of this wild, elemental spectacle as the burns course their way over rocks cascading down hillsides, spilling into gullies and plunge pools is what I seek to capture.
